The foundation is named: “Stichting Progressie Antillianen – Arubanen” (SPA-A).
Stichting SPA-A was born as an initiative of concerned Antilleans and Arubans in the Dutch society who in their own appropriate manner tried to bring about improvement in the , more often than not, underprivileged socio-economic situation in which Antillean and Aruban young  persons,  hereafter - for brevity’s sake – indicated as “young persons”, many times find themselves. Besides young persons, attention is also paid to families, the elderly and to those who are not able to cope and who also belong to the target group (Antilleans and Aruban).
